ESLF TAKES SGBV MESSAGE TO COMMUNITY-BASED GROUP
As part of the ongoing 16-Days of Activism on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) against women and girls, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) has taken the sensitisation message on GBV to a community-based group known as Jechira Women Development Association Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Makurdi, Benue State.
Members of the group, made up of women across age groups were sensitised on the various actions and inactions which constitute SGBV including rape, physical violence, emotional, psychological violence, cyber violence/cyber stalking among others.
During the sensitisation, facilitators from ESLF and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) admonished the women to report cases to appropriate authorities including NHRC, NAPTIP, the police and Non-Governmental Organisations as well as other civil society groups that deal with issues of SGBV.
