FOMWAN PARTNERS ESLF, OTHER NGOs TO MARK INT’L DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2020.

International Day of the Girl Child 2020 organised by the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) in partnership with Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF), Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Gender Environmental Risk Initiative (GERI) and other Non-Governmental Organisations.

ESLF’s representative at the event, Programme Manager, Tine Agernor, who commended mothers for their good work in raising children, reiterated the importance of partnership as stipulated by Goal 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs-17).

For this reason, he said the ESLF Founder and Wife of the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom, continues to partner with persons and organisations in carrying out activities.

Zonal Co-ordinator of FOMWAN, Hajiya Hafsatu Afolabi Nurudeen, in her presentation stressed the need to educate the girl child who would grow up to become mother and grandmother. She also stressed on the need to give her access to good health, economic opportunities and protection from rape, abuse and molestations of all kinds.

The theme of the celebration, the first of its kind to be organised for FOMWAN youths in Makurdi, has the theme “My Voice, Our Equal Future”.#IDG2020
