Welcoming the prize winners, ESLF’s Education and Research Officer, Mr. Iyam Liga explained that before now, the Foundation, during her previous Annual Literacy Projects (held between 2016 and 2019) organized hundreds of children to mark the day, but was unable to repeat same this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Liga pointed out that other prize winners like Nelson Igyu, of Aliade town who were not disposed to come for their prizes would have the prizes sent to them.
Receiving his prize, Solomon Francis, a 12-year-old JSS One student of Makurdi International Secondary School residing at Wadata, said he felt excited to have been one of the winners of the ESLF radio quiz.

The Annual Literacy Project is ESLF’s trademark event held yearly to promote and project the literacy and innovative skills of children in primary and post primary schools.
The 2020 Annual Literacy Project took place last Tuesday 26th May, 2020 in form of a live phone-in programme on Radio Benue organised to deliberately avoid the converging of a large number of children in one place according to the health protocols to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
