ESLF HOSPITAL MAKURDI TAKES OFF WITH FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH.

All 151 persons who presented themselves for treatment at today’s FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH programme organised by Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) and the new ESLF HOSPITAL successfully accessed free treatment for various kinds of ailments and got free drugs and other forms of medication.

The Free Medical Outreach carried out to kick-start full medical operations at the hospital is in line with ESLF’s track record of humanitarian intervention in over 7 years which has reached over 80,000 beneficiaries in 120 communities across Benue State.

The beneficiaries at today’s outreach who were made up of 98 female and 53 male include women, children, the elderly, youth and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) among other vulnerable groups.

A resident of Tse-Ade Agile community in Ugondo District of Makurdi where the hospital is located, Mr. Joshua Zungwenen Ade, described the siting of the hospital and the free medical outreach in the community as “first of its kind” which came with many other benefits for residents including the sinking of a borehole for community use, provision of employment among others. Other beneficiaries including a Person with Disability, Mr Amos Nyikyar and Mrs. Evelyn Teyange thanked ESLF hospital, the Foundation and the Founder, Dr. Eunice Ortom for extending such goodwill to them.

Speaking about the new hospital, Head of Administration of the hospital and Programme Coordinator of ESLF, Dr. Comfort Abaa explained that the ESLF HOSPITAL is offering Maternal and Child Health Services, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (drug and substance abuse reformation, counselling, General Medical Services and Vocational Skills Training (as a component of drug and substance abuse reformation).Earlier, various experts gave health talks on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM), general body hygiene as well as Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV).The 2-day Free Medical Outreach continues tomorrow.
