WORLD CANCER DAY 2024: ESLF PREACHES AT “HOUSE ON THE ROCK CHURCH” AGAINST CANCER.

To mark the celebration of World Cancer Day 2024, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) has taken the message of cancer prevention, care and treatment to members of House on the Rock, Makurdi City Church in Benue State as part of the Foundation’s drive for a healthier society and a commitment to saving the world from the scourge of cancer.

Addressing the congregation during a Special Communion Church Service for the month, Programme Coordinator of ESLF, Dr. Comfort Abaa charged them to make healthy lifestyle choices which can greatly reduce the chances of developing cancer.

Dr. Abaa, a health professional, urged women to go for regular medical tests including pap smear and breast self-examination. She urged men of 40 and above to go for prostate test stressing that early detection of cancer generally saves lives.

In over seven years of existence as an organisation, ESLF has remained in the forefront of cancer advocacy and has sponsored several free programmes on cancer care. The Foundation has given financial support to scores of survivors and victims of cancer which global statistics confirm is the second-leading cause of death worldwide.

World Cancer Day, marked on 4th February every year, is the global uniting initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the theme for this year’s commemoration, as in the past 2 years is, “Close the Care Gap”.
