ESLF & BIPC AWARD 2 MILLION NAIRA SCHOLARSHIP TO 2 BEST GRADUATING STUDENTS OF B.S.U. MAKURDI FOR POST-GRADUATE STUDIES.

Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) and the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) today offered a scholarship award of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) to two Best Graduating Students, Ngutor Benjamin Agbidye of set 2017/2018 and Doose Theresa Ayua of set 2018/2019 of the Benue State University (BSU) Makurdi.

The awards of One Million Naira (#1,000,000.00) to each awardee which were given during BSU’s 18th to 21st Convocation and 30th Anniversary celebrations is part of a subsisting partnership between ESLF and BIPC.

Presenting the prizes to the elated beneficiaries, Visitor to the University and Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom congratulated them on the awards and urged people to strive for excellence.

Earlier in his address, Managing Director of BIPC, Barr. Alex Ter Adum explained that the gesture was in fulfilment of BIPC’s and ESLF’s shared objective to support academic excellence among undergraduate students by supporting them to acquire post graduate education.

With this award, BIPC and ESLF have fulfilled the second of three objectives in their current partnership, the first being the annual award of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000) to the Best Graduating WASSCE (WAEC) student of Benue origin in Benue State to enable the beneficiary to pursue undergraduate studies and the second an award of One Million Naira (N 1,000,000) to the Best Graduating Student of Benue origin at BSU for the beneficiary to pursue a Masters Degree. The third is a street talent hunt to support outstanding persons in vocational or extra-curricular activity.

Making her remarks, the Founder of ESLF and First Lady of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom, represented by ESLF Programme Manager, Tine AGERNOR, commended BIPC for the continued partnership and charged the beneficiaries to invest even more effort in their post graduate studies to expand their academic potentials and justify the trust and investment by BIPC and ESLF in their education.

In their separate responses, the awardees, Ngutor Benjamin Agbidye and Doose Theresa Ayua who both graduated with First Class Degrees in Microbiology in 2 different sessions appreciated BIPC and ESLF for the gesture and stated their commitment to put in their best in their post graduate studies and proffer solutions to the society’s challenges.

ESLF has Education and Research as one of its thematic areas and scholarship awards such as these fall under this area.
