UNFPA/ESLF GIVE GBV SURVIVORS ECONOMIC/LIVELIHOOD SKILLS TRAINING.
Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has commenced an economic/livelihood skills training for survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV) to help strengthen their survival skills and build their resilience.
Addressing participants, Programme Manager of ESLF, Tine Agernor assured that trainees would be given start-up kits at the end of the 2-day training to enable them set sail smoothly into the world of small-scale business.
The Benue State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Tabitha Igirgi represented by an Assistant Director in the Ministry Mrs. Magadalene Andor thanked UNPFA for the skill acquisition training and thanked ESLF and its Founder, Dr. Eunice Ortom for championing the cause of Benue women.
Mrs. Andor who also Coordinates the GBV Centre under the ministry in a group Psychosocial Support Counseling session, urged participants to play their part by doing all that is needful to build a peaceful home.
Representative of the Director General, Benue State Planning Commission who is the UNFPA Focal Person in the State, Matthew Ge noted that the training was both psychologically and economically relevant and urged trainees to make the most of the opportunity.
