EDI-JEN CEO, CHIEF BENJAMIN OMALE, DONATES SPORTS KITS TO SUPPORT ESLF FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT.
Founder, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) and First Lady of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom has expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Edi-Jen Company Nigeria Limited, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale for donating various sports items including track suits, jerseys, match balls and canvass to support ESLF Football Tournament 2022 which commences tomorrow Monday 9th May, 2022 at Otukpo Benue State.
Dr. Ortom gave this appreciation today during the presentation of the items in the presence of former Super Eagles stars and ESLF Ambassadors, Tijani Babangida and Emmanuel Babayaro, ESLF board member, staff and volunteers of the Foundation at its office in Makurdi.
The ESLF Founder who noted that Chief Omale’s act of generosity heralds the kick-off the ESLF Football Tournament for under-18 boys and girls targeted at discovering young talents as the Foundation marks its 6th anniversary.
Dr. Ortom pointed out that the track record of the donor’s generosity to the society proved his humanitarian disposition which qualify him to join the rank of ESLF ambassadors, who are all united by a common thread of uncommon passion for humanity.
She thanked all ESLF partners, donors, ambassadors, board members, staff, volunteers and friends of the Foundation for supporting her vision and helping to nurture it to fruition.
Speaking earlier, donor of the sports items and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Edi-Jen Company Nigeria Limited, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale who is the Ohonyeta k’Idoma, praised ESLF’s impressive strides in the service of humanity and appreciated the chance to contribute and support its noble vision, and by extension support the youths of the State.
He pointed that the ESLF Football Tournament is an outstanding project and unique in the annals of sports development in the country.
Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, Ohonyeta k’Idoma Chairman/CEO of Edi-Jen Company Nig. Ltd, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, Ohonyeta k’Idoma, conferred with ESLF ambassadorial honours in recognition of his support and to be an advocate for the Foundation.
The Ohonyeta k’Idoma noted that he himself had been supporting sports for over a decade asserting that sports unite youths, reduce crime and open doors of opportunities for the youth.
Testifying to his long-standing humanitarian disposition, ex-Super Eagles players and ESLF ambassadors, Emmanuel Babayaro and Tijani Babangida both affirmed that Chief Omale was the brain behind a popular Kaduna-based football tourney known as Toms Jones Football Tournament, and urged him to provide a similar shoulder of support to ESLF on a sustainable basis.
Making a presentation earlier, Programme Manager of ESLF, Mr. Tine Agernor as well as ESLF Ambassador, Chief Cliff Atile explained that the Foundation had made tremendous impact in the lives of thousands of vulnerable persons in the society through its 4 thematic areas of health, education, governance and economic empowerment.
Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of board members and staff of ESLF, a Board of Trustee member, Mrs. Saratu Orga observed that the fact Chief Omale not only donated items but came to do so personally spoke volume of his personal commitment to humanity.
High points of the event included the presentation of 532 pieces of sports items to the ESLF Founder and decoration of Chief Omale as an ESLF ambassador to join the rank of soccer stars Tijani Babangida, Emmanuel Babayaro, Mike Potempa, Chiefs Cliff Atile, Mike Ogbanje among others.
Kick-off for the ESLF Football Tournament is tomorrow 9th May, 2022 at St. Mary’s Primary School, Field, Otukpo and 2 male teams, Lucky Stars Football Club and Avail Football Club will be trading tackles.
