CAMP-TO-CAMP MEDICAL OUTREACH MOVES TO UIKPAM IDP CAMP…HUNDREDS MORE RECEIVE FREE TREATMENTS, SURGERIES AND TESTS.
About 500 more beneficiaries on August 18th 2021, received free medical care at the Uikpam Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State during the ongoing free medical outreach to IDP Camps and Locations in Benue State. Out of this number, 40 persons underwent surgical procedures of hernia, cysts, lipoma and ganglia (which eliminates lumps on tendons).
The free medical care is part of the ongoing Camp-To-Camp Medical Outreach for Benue IDPs organised by the Benue State Government through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in partnership with Office of the First Lady of Benue State and her Foundation, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF).
The outreach began on Monday 16th August, 2021 at the Gbajimba IDP Camp I with an official flagged off yesterday by Governor Samuel Ortom, who was represented by Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Joseph Ngbea.
The first phase of this health intervention, which is targeted at ameliorating the plight of vulnerable men, women and children living in and around IDP camps and locations in Benue State, has Gbajimba IDP Camp, Uikpam IDP Camp, Daudu 3 IDP Camp, Abagena IDP Camp and Agatu Primary Health Centre earmarked for the first phase.
Addressing the IDPs at Uikpiam, Team Lead of the outreach, Lizzy Aganyi, said the programme was born out of the need of the State Government and First Lady to meet the health needs of vulnerable persons assuring them that all the medical consultations, treatments and surgeries were free of charge.
