ESLF FOUNDER IDENTIFIES WITH IDPS ON WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY 2020
As part of activities to mark World Humanitarian Day 2020, the Founder of Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) and First Lady of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom, today visited some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Abagena IDPs Camp in Benue State.
Dr. Ortom who empathized with the IDPs and their plight of being away from their ancestral homes and villages for a long while, donated several cartons of soap and sanitary pads to enhance their hygiene condition as well as bags of semovita, cartons of biscuits, packs of bottled water and assorted soft drinks among others.
The ESLF Founder, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mrs. Ladi Isegbe Ajene urged them to make the best use of the donated items.
Receiving the items, Woman Leader at the Abagena Camp, Justina Jime, pledged to ensure equity in sharing the palliatives to the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the event, a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) expert and member of staff of ESLF, Tersur Tseror, encouraged men to be supportive of women on MHM matters and advised women to maintain high level of hygiene by properly using the soap and disposable sanitary pads.
There were presentations on COVID-19 and other diseases as well as how to stay safe from them.
According to ESLF’s Programme Manager, the donation was a collaboration between ESLF, Office of the First Lady of Benue State and the Northern Nigeria Governor’s Wife Forum (NGWF).
