ESLF @4: We Celebrate Heroic Humanitarian Efforts To Curb Extreme Suffering, Poverty, Hunger And Disease.

It might seem not the best of times to celebrate, but then celebrate we should. A time like this that is characterized by the worst humanitarian crisis the world has seen since World War II indeed calls for sober reflection. But at the same time, this trying time calls for celebration of thousands of titans standing up to the trials of the times and giving the best of efforts to save lives and salvage livelihoods.

At 4, ESLF celebrates the gallant and heroic acts of millions of brave men and women, boys and girls, many of them health personnel and humanitarian workers, who answered the clarion call to be at the forefront of the fight to save humanity from a deadly pandemic and its attendant humanitarian crisis.

Though we are sober about those afflicted by the novel virus, but we also celebrate those who have been saved, through human interventions, from being infected.

And while we sincerely mourn the thousands of lives that have been lost across the world to this pandemic, but we also celebrate the millions of lives that have been delivered from its deadly claws.

ESLF’s 4th anniversary coming at this period of unprecedented humanitarian need only strengthens the resolve that birthed the vision which gave rise to the Foundation four years ago.

We are convinced more than ever that exploring the potentials of the Foundation’s core thematic areas of Health, Education, Governance and Economic Empowerment (with a bias for Agric-business) and Environment is a sure way to surmount the humanitarian challenges that people face including the present pandemic.

As we celebrate our 4th anniversary at these trying times, we are strongly positive that happier times surely lie ahead!
