ESLF FREE MEGA MEDICAL OUTREACHES: THE MILESTONES

The Eunice Spring of Life Foundation Free Mega Medical Outreach, is one of the many health-based interventions of ESLF aimed at improving access to quality healthcare for Benue people, especially at the grass-root levels. The origin of the outreach which was on monthly basis at selected Local Government Areas (LGA), progressed to senatorial districts quarterly, and early this year has been on the ward to ward reach. The projection is set to reach one hundred and fifty thousand (150, 000) persons in all 276 council wards in Benue State.

From August 2016 – May 2017 (in partnership with Benue Women In Prayer and season 1) Ten thousand three hundred and ninety four (10, 394) beneficiaries were reached; from November 2017 – December 2017 (Zones A, B, C Season 2) nine thousand two hundred and thirty two (9, 232) beneficiaries were reached, and from March to date (Season 3: Ward to Ward) forty seven thousand six hundred and nine (47,609)have, and are still benefitting.

The ward to ward journey so far, has been successful with eight LGAs fully reached and currently working in the ninth and 100 council wards covered. Below is a breakdown of the ward to ward reach;

Activities during the outreaches include but not limited to: Health Talks & Sensitization; Surgeries (such as Herniorrhaphy, Lipoma Removal, Hydrocelectomy, Incisions, ocular ); HIV, Malaria and Hepatitis screening; General Consultation and Counselling (Spiritual and Psychological), referrals and linkage to care.
