As a followup to the economic summit, ESLF held the opening ceremony for the training of cooperative groups, at the entrepreneurship center for development on March 22nd, 2017.
This marked a milestone in the ESLF partnership with Bank of Agric (BOA) and entrepreneurial development center (EDC). The 841 women in Agribusiness were drawn from the three senatorial districts, with four training locations namely Otukpo, Adikpo, Gboko and Makurdi.
The training were strictly on Agribusiness best practices, with four major courses in its curriculum. They include; piggery (pig fattening), poultry, production marketing and fishery. 770 women graduated on 9th of May, 2017 from the training and are in the process of accessing their soft loans. The financing institution stressed the need for beneficiaries to repay their loans promptly to pave way for more of such facilities.

ESLF launched an agricultural empowerment scheme in 2016 at four communities in Gwer LGA such as Raav, Howe, Taraku and Aondona which led to the distribution of farm inputs to farmers, transfer of modern skills and knowledge to improve farmers’ productivity and profitability.
This initiative resulted to cultivation of hundred bags of crops including maize, soybean and sasame. This significantly led to improvements in rural farmers’ livelihoods. ESLF seeks to consolidate its agricultural gains in 2017. already our foundation has purchased vast expanse of land (45 hectares) to promote agricultural model farms where farmers learn about modern innovations to improve their farming and operations. Agripreneur Ambassador Project is a project designed to position public secondary school in Benue as catalysts to provide positive change towards promoting agriculture and reducing hunger among the youths in Nigeria, support efforts at preventing the national hunger scourge. The project aims to raise a new crops of agribusiness leaders through reviving the interest of youths to study and practice agriculture after high school education. The project is to partner with three (3) public secondary schools in Benue state that is one school per senatorial zone.
It is a scheme for promoting agriculture among the youths. It will consist of several items such as award of scholarships for students admitted for agricultural programs at higher institution, quiz, career-fair, revive or support establishment of young farmers clubs, debate, essay, internship slots, establishment of demonstration farms and farm excursion trips.
FOOD BANK PROJECT
the Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) is currently implementing a food bank project which will operate as a collection system of receiving, sorting and grading different nutritious food items received by partners and donors for malnourished populations with our target beneficiaries been the internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps located in crises-prone areas of Benue State, Nigeria such as Daudu, Zaki-biam, Wannue, Buruku Ugba and Agatu. From reliable data, it has been observed that access to quality food occupies the central need of refugees because most diseases that occur there stems from poor diets.
